Sempra Energy’s corporate headquarters is a case study in showing the details make all the difference in architectural design. Hundreds of feet in the air, the vaulting glass exterior is broken by an inset of ACM panels providing aesthetic and functional benefits. The inset functions as an executive balcony for hosting guests and thrilling with views of the nearby downtown ballpark. It also aesthetically serves as a visual break to highlight the height of the vaulting building. On the ground level, aluminum perforated panels keep the building’s HVAC, plumbing and irrigation systems hidden in plain site. The vertical, rectangular cuts in the panels mirror the vertical height of the building soaring above.
